Well, today I finally bit the bullet and resigned from my job as an underpaid, unfulfilled, and ultimately unhappy copywriter. I am now going to pursue my writing (read: NOT copywriting) career full time, and maybe do a little illustration on the side.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt this excited or this happy, since I started working a regular job. I’m going to do something I like, and I also know what steps I have to take to do it. This new project I’m starting combines one of my greatest passions with one of my most developed skills – writing. As for the subject matter, I’m keeping my trap shut until I get it fully started next week.
(I figured, I’ve been writing for years, why not try to make a buck off it? Maybe eventually, I could branch out to writing for magazines or newspapers (no, I am not on crack). Or not. Uh…)
It’s going to be slow for the first few weeks (and maybe even months), but after that, I think I’ll be looking pretty good. ‘Course, I ain’t exactly gonna end up in Bora-Bora with two half-naked supermodels tanning themselves on the beach with me in this line of work, but I reckon it’ll be enough to get me by in the long run.
